Tour Details

Ausangate is one of the only places in the world where people live so close to snow-capped mountains and glaciers, such Ausangate (6384 m / 20,945 ft), preserving nature and its millenary traditions daily, with beliefs in the sacred and its relationship with the Andean cosmovision.

In the Vilcanota Cordillera, it is possible to appreciate, like in no other place, the presence of the aboriginal people with their attire, which they have preserved together with their attitudes of attachment to the soil and tradition. The breeding of extensive herds of llamas, alpacas, sheep, and cattle stands out in the middle of the tours; it is magical to observe, among the rocky areas and high glaciers, the sudden appearance of vicuñas, as well as the haughty condor flying overhead.

We recommend that you do at least a 1-day hike at altitude to acclimatize before doing this trek. If you already have previous experience, it is not necessary.

We offer the following hikes:

  • Hiking 3 Qorichocha Lagoons (full day).
  • Hiking Apu Picol
  • Hiking Apu Mama Simona
  • Hiking Apu Pachatusan
