The Mini Trek 7 lagoons-Ausangate is an emblematic trek through the different colored lagoons that belong to the surrounding communities near the north face of Nevado Ausangate (6384 m / 20,945 ft). For the aboriginal people, the stars, stones, mountains, and lagoons are conscious people who communicate with humans and create the whole universe. The stories and legends of these places are part of the Andean culture and tradition.
In the Vilcanota Cordillera, it is possible to appreciate, like in no other place, the presence of the aboriginal people with their attire, which they have preserved together with their attitudes of attachment to the soil and tradition. The breeding of extensive herds of llamas, alpacas, sheep, and cattle stands out in the middle of the tours; it is magical to observe, among the rocky areas and high glaciers, the sudden appearance of vicuñas, as well as the haughty condor flying overhead.
We recommend that you do at least a 1-day hike at altitude to acclimatize before doing this trek. If you already have previous experience, it is not necessary.
